Immediate past Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko has been used as a scapegoat to cover up for the rot in the Akufo-Addo led government, Member of Parliament for Bolga Central, Isaac Adongo has said.

According to Mr Adongo, Mr Agyarko was just “a poster boy for the create, loot and share gang led by President Akufo-Addo”.

His comment comes a day after the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, was sacked over his role in the revised $510 million AMERI deal.

His sack came after almost reaching a deal with a third party, Mytilineos International Trading Company to handle the AMERI power plant for a 15-year period.

Many believe President Akufo-Addo decided to sack Boakye Agyarko for misleading him about the deal.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, Isaac Adongo refused to accept the narration that President Akufo-Addo was misled, insisting that the botched deal was a “create loot and share” gone bad.

“Akufo-Addo was not misled; it is just a create, loot and share gone bad” he stressed.

The Bolga Central MP maintained that the figures in the renegotiated agreement did not make economic sense.

“Boakye Agyarko is just a victim. I have not seen a coordinated create, loot and share that has gone bad than this one,” he opined.

Adongo said, President Akufo-Addo cannot absolve himself from blame because he gave an executive approval for the bill to be passed.

“He [Akufo-Addo] has decided to sacrifice the lame duck in the team to save himself,” he added.
