Former Health Minister, Alex Segbefia has asked the government to operationalise the Mobile Clinic Vans that have been abandoned at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

The vans are meant to bridge the healthcare delivery gap between the urban and rural areas.

The mobile vans with a Twi inscription ‘Onua dor’ translated as neighbourly love, have power generators and interior fitted with air-conditions.

But the window frames of some of the vans have been broken.

Saddened by the development, the former Health Minister who procured the vans has asked the government to secure the needed funds to ensure the operation of the Mobile Clinic Vans.

“I am clearly convinced in my mind that mobile clinics are in this country to stay but why it is not I can’t answer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP),” Mr Segbefia said.

He said the ‘Onua Dor’ as the vans are called is a good project Ghanaians would like to “see more of it.”
