Hiphop artiste, Kwesi Arthur’s nomination for the 2018 edition of Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards, has triggered a massive campaign on social media.

The "Grind Day" hit rapper on Tuesday, became the only Ghanaian to receive a nomination at this year’s awards. He has been nominated in the ‘Viewers' Choice: Best New International Act’ category.

To win that award, he has to beat off competition from Mc Soffia (Brazil), Prince Waly (France), Niniola (Nigeria), Sjava (South Africa), Sik-K (South Korea), Nailah Blackman (Trinidad And Tobago), Not3s (UK), Iamddb (UK) and Take A Mic (France).

Kwesi Arthur, whose song ‘Grind Day’ won ‘Hip Pop Song of the Year’ at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards, becomes the second Ghanaian to be nominated for that category.

In 2015, MzVee was nominated for BET Awards’ all new category, Best New International Act Viewers’ Choice Award.

An overwhelmed Kwesi Arthur said on Twitter: “This journey just gets crazier each day, who ever thought a kid from C9 Tema, Ghana would be nominated for such a prestigious award!! We thank God for the grace, and I can't thank you people enough for you support!”
